The Effect of Aerobic Exercise and Ginkgo biloba Herbal Supplementation on Lipocalin 2 Levels and Insulin Resistance in Obese Men

Background: Performing sports activities along with nutritional interventions is recommended as an effective way to reduce inflammatory cytokines and improve insulin resistance in obese people. This study aimed evaluate the effect of aerobic exercise Ginkgo biloba herbal supplementation on lipocalin 2 (Lcn2) levels men. Materials Methods: For this purpose, 40 men Kashan were selected accessible purposeful manner. Subjects randomly divided into 4 groups, including (n=10), ginkgo control group (n=10). performed for 6 weeks. Accordingly, subjects started 25 minutes intensity 65% maximum heart rate first second In third fourth weeks, they practiced 35 65%-75% rate, finally 75%-85% fifth sixth extract was prepared form gelatin capsules, two which daily consumed by after breakfast The their usual group. obtained data analyzed analysis covariance (ANCOVA) SPSS software (version 22) at level 0.05. Results: results showed that weeks significantly reduced Lcn2 (P<0.001 η²=0.61) η²=0.74) Conclusion: According findings present study, it seems can contribute regulating body weight through a reduction Lcn2.
